Invision Power Dynamic (IPDynamic) is our content management system (CMS) which is under heavy development.
Overview
IPDynamic will enable you to create, manage and edit your entire website without the need to physically create new files on your server or to use FTP and external editors. You'll be able to create, edit and manage webpages right from within the control panel. IPDynamic features several other time-saving tools which speed up website development and deployement. These features include a comprehensive templating system allowing you to quickly re-use content, a replacements editor which allow you to re-use blocks of code across your website, a versioning system with a rollback facility and draft mode to preview your changes before you make them live.
The IPDynamic concept
IPDynamic is a very simple to use tool which encompasses an expansive amount of control. The concept is broken down into three main categories; "System", "Templates", "Content".
The system is the overall running of the IPDynamic software, such as server environment, database management, back-up and restore as well as managing registered extensions.
The template section controls the "look" of the site. These templates can be menu blocks, header and footer blocks, content boxes and other re-usable items that do not relate to site content.
The content section allows you to build and manage your pages. This is where you write the content that fits inside the template. You can create and manage your pages from within here.
This allows you to have three very specific areas of control and you can assign members into groups. This will allow you to assign just content editing permissions to your content editors so that they are unable to make template or system changes and you can make template editors that do not have access to content.
Converge it up!
IPDynamic will also feature the "converge" authentication sharing system that Invision Power Board introduced. This will allow you to share your community across your entire website. Invision Power Board can simple be registered as an extension from within IPDynamic complete with its own settings.
How Much, when is it ready?
IPDynamic is still under heavy development which means we're unable to give a firm completion date of finalize the costings for the project. More details will definitely follow soon.
